The gallery below is a walk through of the admin pages within gpEasy CMS starting with the login screen. This is current for gpEasy CMS 2.1. This is just to help familiarize you with the layout of gpEasy CMS admin pages. Following tutorials will go in-depth into the main admin pages within gpEasy. It's a good idea to follow along in your installation of gpEasy with this pictorial walk-through.
Found on the floating menu bar under user name.
This is where you organize your pages, create additional menus, apply layouts to pages, etc. For more info on the Page Manager and Menus see the Menus Tutorial.
Name the Page and choose the type of page you would like it to be.
You can easily manage your uploaded files here. In order to upload files you need to choose one of the main folders. Then you will see the options to upload files or create a new folder.
You can manage your extra content areas here. Click the edit link on any of them and you will be taken to the html editor to edit that particular extra content. You can also edit any extra content areas when viewing a page by hovering over the page and clicking the red edit button.
When you delete a page it goes into the trash. You can restore it form here or delete it permanently.
This is where you manager your layouts and themes. A layout is a theme that has been added to gpEasy as a layout that then can be applied to one or more pages.
A theme can be used to create an infinite number of layouts.
The links are rather self evident. Just click them to see what they do.
Click any layout's color icon and you can rename the layout and choose a different color for it.
Any time to click the Edit This Layout on the menu you enter a page that allows you to edit the layout that is applied to the particular page you are viewing at the time you click the link.
You can drag-n-drop the content areas to arrange them, remove them, insert different ones, etc.
This link gives you a popup that allows you to browse available themes for gpEasy
The manage plugins page allows you to install or uninstall plugins you have uploaded to your gpEasy installation.
Opens a popup window to the official gpEasy plugins.
This link opens the configuration window where you set many of the basic settings of your gpEasy installation.
Takes you to the user page where you can make changes to permissions, user accounts, and passwords.
After clicking on a user you get this page showing that user's available permissions. Just click a permission to deny the user that permission.
Allows you to hide index.php in the URL. This will only work if you have proper read write permissions and mod rewrite is enabled for the htaccess file on your server.
You can modify the 404 error page that visitors will see if they arrive at a dead URL.
Click the Redirection button and you can add new a redirection for dead links within your site.
Allows you to export your gpEasy data. If you have FTP access to your site it's much easier just to download the data folder.
If you wish to uninstall your site. However, if you have FTP access to your site it's better just to delete the installation.
Back to the administration page via the link under the user's name.
This link gives you quick access to items you frequently use.
User specific preferences.
When you are on an actual page you will see and additional menu category, Current Page. The link "Rename/Details" allows you to change meta data about the current page you are on.
This is the window you will be presented with when clicking that link. This first window only allows you to change the name.
BE CAREFUL! Renaming a page also changes that page's URL/permalink,
The more options allows you to change the meta data of the page. You can also un-sync the URL/permalink with the name of the page.
